The Rev. Richard Bolin, Pastor, (usually called "Rich") is a native Californian
raised in Hemet and Orange. He has received a BA in music from the
University of the Pacific in Stockton, and a Master of Theology from
Boston University School of Theology. While in Boston, he met and
married Kay. They are the parents of two children, Benjamin and Mary Beth.
Since graduating from seminary in 1974, Pastor Bolin has served churches in
Phoenix, Goleta , Long Beach, Alhambra and La Canada. During his
8 years in Goleta, he also served as the United Methodist campus
minister at U.C. Santa Barbara. In Long Beach and in Alhambra he
pastored in multi-cultural settings, enabling special language
ministries to people of Chinese, Filipino, Samoan and Korean cultures,
as well as doing English language ministry among people of many ethnic backgrounds.
Rich emphasizes preaching, teaching, storytelling, mission and
music (performing as a percussionist and a pianist, song
leading, and occasionally choral conducting). Beyond his
local church responsibilities he has given leadership to
the local chapter of the Methodist Federation for Social Action
and has served as the Disaster Response Coordinator for the California-Pacific
Conference of the United Methodist Church.
